Hausa community members that shown interest were welcome and engage. Subsequently, we identify most prolific, knowledgeable, and motivated contributors from semi experience editors using the available statistics from our previous projects, they were informed on our WhatsApp and Telegram group about the approved project and invited to the future events. Participants were sensitize online through our social media handles, and they were highlighted on the topics to work on. We hosted the offline in-person training in three weekends which also serve as our meet-up within the time frame,in the first training both the selected volunteers and new ones were train on editorship skills, participants were engage one-on-one in regards to challenges, clarifications. A brochure developed containing basic editing commands helped a lot in enhancing volunteers skills, a hard copy Hausa Dictionary used also help in content contribution. The highest contributors were awarded phone as prizes at the end of the project timeline.Being able to host this series of activities is possible with financial and technical support of Wikimedia Foundation.

Communication through our social media handles within the time frame as keeping in touch with volunteers, posting videos in the group about editing process help them whenever they find something challenging, and this serve as motivation and encouragement to the volunteers, also serve as a medium used promoting community interaction, problem solving and networking. Also, resources such as brochure and hard copy English-Hausa Kamus used also help in content contribution. Throwing challenge to editors, including creating words that are in red links fully with reference, images and audio help in engaging the editors and building our momentum. Part 2: Your main learning edit

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

We learn the best way to retain existing editors as volunteers is through constant communication and keeping in touch with volunteers through our social media. Also, resources such as brochure and hard copy English-Hausa Kamus used also help in content contribution which we learn that equipping editors with resources will go a long way in retaining editors.Encouraging the existing editors in solving new editors challenges serve as an avenue that the community members understand that everyone can contribute, and it's an equal level playing ground. This method help in preparing the volunteers on leadership skills and to take up roles in the future.

We learn that coming together of trainers, existing editors and new volunteers and interacting in the course of the project serve as a best way to manage our existing community partnerships and creating new ways of sustaining and creating new ones. We learn communication is best way of managing an open community, through the in person training and engaging participants online they have acquired the necessary skills and motivation to continue contributing. The participants grasp something new in this project from our previous project they understand that Hausa Wiktionary is a system of related words by categories and they can perform different editing task simultaneously such as referencing, linking audio and image files from wikipedia Commons.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

The surprise and interesting situation is the way the community members related and work as a team to achieve the same goal. And how they have shown motivation to use their ideas in editing words and carrying out task they are given. Many community members are willing to contribute with proper guidance and support.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

We hope to seize this initiative since the community members are conversant with editing skills in Wiktionary, we plan to see how they could be engage more in the future in increasing content in Hausa Wiktionary. If possible to equipped with skill of recording, editing, converting and uploading free license audio files to wikimedia Commons images to wikipedia Commons in other to solve the problem of unavailability of some audio files in wikipedia Commons.
