Part 1 Understanding your work edit

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

We discussed the challenges faced by participants during the previous training and we were able to provide solutions those challenges by Increasing the skills of the existing editors in contributing to Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikicommons.

We also visited tourist centers, notable landmarks, and historical locations for Photowalk.

We were able to add and improve local content on English Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wiki Commons.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

All of our approaches were effectives. We organized two (2) in-person events followed by virtual sessions on Zoom to keep in touch with all participants. In these events, we were able to train participants and also increase their skill on how to contribute to Wikipedia and its sister project. In this sessions, there was an hands-on keyboard training where the new editors were given the avenue to practice what they have learnt. We also had a photo walk to tourist centers and notable places in Osun state.

An outreach dashboard was created where we assigned articles to participants and also monitored their activities. A separate Whatsapp group was also created where participants are mentored after the events.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Strongly agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Strongly agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

Osun State is home to several of Nigeria's most famous landmarks, of which they are not included on the Wiki platform due to the fact that aborigines were not given the opportunity to contribute to the free knowledge platform, the project was able to give the people of Osun State the opportunity to contribute to open knowledge.

Part 2: Your main learning edit

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

I was able to proffer solutions to the problems the participants faced during the Info-tourism and Wellness project and also equip more new editors and engaged the existing ones productively with more items and articles to create and improved.

Also, we were able to discover more cultural heritage and tourist centers in Osun state, got first hand information about those places and represent them well on Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikicommons

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

Yes, I was surprised at the level of interest of new participants in contributing to Wikipedia and her sister projects. This experience made me to realize that participants are looking forward to other projects they could engage in and contribute to.

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

I hope to facilitate more projects and also train more editors in Osun State so we can all bridge the information gap about about our state.

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).
