1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

This is a project on the Visibility of Women in various works especially Women Artists.Women are among the underrepresented people .This will also increase the interest of more female contributors within the community and source new contributors, thereby bridging the gender gap and promoting diversity by editing/creating articles about Women on Wikipedia and also improve the existing ones.These improvement will involve adding references, photos, creating wikidata items about women and adding quotes about Women on Wikiquote. We will also translate Articles,Quotes,photo description and items about Women to Igbo language. We will focus on increasing the visibility of Women who edit Wikimedia projects, training participants both male and female on the basics of editing Wikipedia including other Wikimedia projects.The Challenge we plan solving is to bridge the gender gap, increase awareness, improve Users experience, contribute to knowledge equity, bridge content gap, Contribute to language visibility and Improve Users media and information literacy skills.We will organize Editathons after the training to improve the visibility of women artists through editing / creating articles on Wikipedia and linking relevant articles and improving/adding Wikidata items.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

One of the approach is Creating Awareness,we will start by creating awareness in the cities of Anambra, introducing the open knowledge movement to them. Secondly,we would train participants on basics of editing Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. We will organize Edit a thons for practicals to access our participants.

Creating Awareness on Arts, gender and Feminism leads participants to identify the gaps and learn more about how they can contribute to filling the gap.participants having identified the gap we want bridge, will contribute to the sum of human knowledge,thereby filling gender, content and language gap.

The target participants are students and Staffs from the Anambra State University Igbariam,Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Teachers from Redeemers College Awka,Staffs from the State judiciary and interested participants from other works.

We will always abide by the Universal Code of Conduct and Friendly Space Policy. We will explain these and inform participants before we start any event. We will also distribute copies of the Safe and Brave Policy of Art+Feminism.
