Part 1 Understanding your work edit

1. Briefly describe how your proposed activities and strategies were implemented

1. An online awareness was held first to introduce participants to the project. It created a good foundation and gave background knowledge.

2. A google form was used to know the location of participants that attended so the events were held at the top 2 locations.
3. During the edit-a-thon, active editors were monitored, and passive editors were encouraged. At the end of every week. data was reimbursed.

2. Were there any strategies or approaches that you felt were effective in achieving your goals? Please describe these strategies and approaches.

1. Data support was a huge encouragement for participants. Participants were able to create more articles as they felt support and it played a big part in achieving the targets. Our target was 80 new articles and a total of 403 were created.

2. Support for participants: There were resources for participants that did not understand. For example, a video by the Wiki Loves Women focus group. Also, the local team was available to always help out and answer questions.
3. Assigning roles to each team member made tasks get done easily, and organized. Every member played a role in the completion of the project.

3. Please use this space to upload media and other files that help tell your story and impact.

4. To what extent do you agree with the following statements regarding the work carried out with the support of this Fund? You can choose “not applicable” if your work does not relate to these goals.

Our efforts during the Fund period have helped to...
A. Bring in participants from underrepresented groups Agree
B. Create a more inclusive and connected culture in our community Agree
C. Develop content about underrepresented topics/groups Agree
D. Develop content from underrepresented perspectives Agree
E. Encourage the retention of editors Agree
F. Encourage the retention of organizers Agree

5. Is there anything else you would like to share about how your efforts helped to bring in participants and/or build out content, particularly for underrepresented groups?

providing support helped participants enthusiastic. Also, a good and free environment were each editors had a good user experience.

Part 2: Your main learning edit

6. In your application, you outlined your learning priorities. What did you learn about these areas during this period?

1. Work with a team: Working with members of the international team who gave 100% support and provided resource, was amazing. Members who did not have experience with project management were able to learn how to handle both a physical and virtual event.

2. Personally, I learnt team building, management and good leadership. I learnt that a leader listens and respects others' opinions. Members of the local team were able to freely voice their opinions and we were able to correct each other. It was a nice experience. Likewise with the international team.

7. Did anything unexpected or surprising happen when implementing your activities? This can include both positive and negative situations. What did you learn from those experiences?

Yes. The responses from participants were unexpected. We had 403 newly created articles meanwhile our target was 80. Another occurrence was an additional winner special category created to support women. It was given to the Newest female editor. This category helped encouraged new editors while bridging the gender gap

8. How do you hope to use this learning? For instance, do you have any new priorities, ideas for activities, or goals for the future?

9. Documentation of resources: Use this space to upload any documents that would be useful to share with others (e.g. communications material, training material, presentations).

12. Did you have any difficulties collecting data to measure your results? This could include things like a lack of time or resources, or the expertise in your team to collect this data. It could also include difficulties with particular data collection tools.

Yes

12a. State what difficulties you had.

After the editathon, we discovered while calculation the results that the outreach dashboard is unable to track content added as quotes. Meanwhile edits made on Wikidata can be tracked such as item added or value added. Likewise, the dashboard should be able to track edits per quote.

N/A

13. Use this space to upload any documents and provide links to any tools you have used that would be useful to understand your data collection (e.g., surveys you have carried out, communications material, training material, program and event dashboard link, project page on Meta).
