More to learn edit

Further details about what I would like to learn.

Skill related to learning: As a teacher with 30 years experience, I am always interested in learning new and better approaches to teaching and learning. I will like to learn about tools that can be used to aid teaching and learning and that will be cost effective and possibly involves usage of less data and makes learning to be fun. such tool could help to introduce and sustain the utilization of open education in Nigeria. The only tool I have heard of is the Isa tool on event and program dashboard. I came across Wiki-tools and Wiki-factory and noticed that there are many tools that are still not in use or a place that where ideas can turn into reality. These are yet not known or utilized by many people in my country Nigeria.

Skill related to evaluation and communication: I want to learn how investigative journalism through media and information literacy can bring peace, development and unity instead of war, mis-information and chaos. (Rwanda Experience)

Stories about sharing edit

Interesting stories about applying the skills I want to share.

Interesting stories about applying the skills I want to share. 1. Organisation Skills: I have organized series of meetings, trainings, edit a thons and campaigns for Igbo Wikimedia User Group and for Wiki for Senior Citizens Network that I Co-Founded. I founded the first Igbo Wiki club at Federal Government Girls College and the first Ig Wiki fan Club in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Akwa Anambra state. My first training in WMF on project management was conducted by Education Green House. I also participated in the Partnership engagement programme conducted by the WikiLearn. I am also a certified trainer, trained by the Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom program. This further improved my skills to be able to draft engaging proposal that follows a logical sequence, planning relevant strategies, activities, budgeting, partnership engagement, detailed evaluation to prepare reports etc. I was able to prepare and present a programme to conduct a reading Wikipedia in the Classroom program in Abuja which is just being concluded. 2. Learning, evaluation, and communication skills: Over time, I have become very familiar with creating contents, documenting knowledge in an easy and accessible way that others can learn from (through quality assurance, reports writing based on learning and evaluation, data analysing, communicating data to stakeholders, developing presentations, infographics, translation etc.). Some of the Information can be seen here; https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Nile_University_of_Nigeria/Wikimedia_Awareness_and_Edit-a-thon_in_Nile_University_of_Nigeria https://www.nileuniversity.edu.ng/wiki-media-foundation-offers-digital-literacy-training-to-nile-university-community/ https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089465221833&_rdc=1&_rdr 3.Skills related to interpersonal skills, community health and governance: As a certified trainer, Reading Wikipedia in the classroom program from Nigeria and a Lead trainer during the implementation of reading Wikipedia in the classroom programme, Abuja, Nigeria, and community leader I have provided mentorship support to my community members. As a lead trainer in the reading Wikipedia in the classroom programme Abuja, I provided guide to participating teachers, answered their questions, evaluated their assignments etc. I have also severed as Juror during the Decolonizing the Internet organized by Igbo Wikimedia and Goth institute and during Igbo Wikimedia User Group adding of words to Igbo Wiktionary Competition titled ‘’Asọmpi Mkpụrụokwu Otu Narị (Igbo Wiktionary 100 Words Challenge)’’. I reviewed all edits in that competition and announced the winners.
