Grants:IdeaLab/settle it the easy way: ignore 😉
Project idea
editHarassment here can be avoided in many ways, but I believe the best would be to just simply ignore. When ignoring, the person may either chose to give up, or they could continue to yell when you won't pay attention to it. I support pretending the just aren't there, and in other words, invisible. Don't respond in anger; this will encourage the harasser to harass you more and aggravate you. Responding also helps the harasser know you care about it.
What is the problem you're trying to solve?
editThis common problem: fights. Online fights may lead to suicidal thoughts (I'm not kidding, some comments can be that insulting), leaving you doubting yourself, never wanting to post a project again, or becoming mentally hurt (self-esteem damaged). As we all know, all of these problems are bad, but most start because of a fight that started form the harassment. Scary.
What is your solution?
editIn this, fights can be avoided, too, making this a safer environment. When being harassed, the "invisible" strategy will make you swerve around the insults and so, while at the same time giving the harasser the message: "I don't care." Period. Nothing more. This will push the harasser "not physically or verbally" away.
