Project idea edit

What is the problem you're trying to solve? edit

Default wiki pages don't offer solutions that fit current design trends, and hence are not engaging for audiences outside the movement. Further, sometimes a more complex structure is needed for better navigation, in those cases where there is too much information.

What is your solution? edit

This project seeks to capture one on one coaching on design skills, to socialize it more broadly and create more engaging wiki pages.

Goals edit

  • To create a library of templates that anyone can reuse and adapt.
  • To create guides on how to create, use and modify templates.
  • To create a space where program leaders can coach each other in wiki design skills and trouble shoot through markup problems.

Endorsements edit

  • I don't know what the correct solutions for this problem is, perhaps an external tool, or an expansion of visual editor. Whatever it is there needs to be some serious work on making documentation on Wikimedia less ugly. Maria has done some amazing work which I have copied (with a lot of help from Maria) to create some pages including this one. I think this proposal is a very good solution even if tools are improved to make design work easier. John Cummings (talk) 14:29, 6 April 2016 (UTC)
