Project idea edit

What is the problem you're trying to solve? edit

I feel as one of the most problematic forms of harassment too intrusive and imposing offers and implementation of tools or features which are not so perfect to be default. VisualEditor, UploadWizard or Wikidata are very good ideas but very imperfect yet, their premature enforcement caused many damages.

What is your solution? edit

  • To reinforce the feedback
  • To not admit imperfect works with neglected problems from the test phase to full operation as the preferred or default interface

Project goals edit

Users should be protected from loss of proven tools and interfaces and obtrusive enforcement of imperfect tools and interfaces. Makers and fans of the new tools should be forced to have respect for the feedback and to refrain to impose it until the main problems are solved.

Endorsements edit

  •   Support; need more detail about the implementation?
Another way to look at it is that the information is free and if you do not like the WMF-run web site then you may run a mirror with your own set of tools and edit back using OAuth or API. Nobody is going to be completely happy with what the WMF provides, but small hacking communities with freely licensed code and content could make collaboration possible. Search federated wiki, decentralisation. Gryllida 01:31, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
