**EDUCATION**

Ph.D. in Mathematics, Indiana University Bloomington

Thesis: “An Isoperimetric Problem with Nonlocal Long-range Interactions”

Advisor: Peter J. Sternberg

M.S. in Mathematics, Bogazici University

Thesis: “Variational methods for nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations with nonlocal terms”

Advisor: Alp Eden

B.S. in Mathematics, Bogazici University

**RESEARCH**

My research interests lie primarily in the calculus of variations, partial differential equations and geometric measure theory, with a focus on problems arising from materials science, biology and physics. In particular, I am interested in the analysis of non-convex and nonlocal constrained variational problems which result in energy-driven pattern formations.
