Help pages on Wikimedia projects are mostly written like Wikipedia articles. The are not easy to read or understand, and sometimes are just written by advanced users, for advanced users.

What is the problem you're trying to solve? edit
If you want people to read Help pages or instructions, these must be nice. Important information must be displayed clearly, for the readers. The have to find what they are looking for in a blink of an eye.
What is your solution? edit
Develop a best practices page associated with a clear and friendly design will help to retain new users. A feedback system would help communities to fix Help pages contents, and metrics will help to measure the efficiency.
