Project idea

edit

What is the problem you're trying to solve?

edit

The flatlining of Wikimedia editors, the lack of demographic diversity, and challenges to the reliability of Wikimedia programs.

What is your solution?

edit

I intend to solve this problem, by starting multi-week courses and two-day intensive courses at libraries and community colleges across the country, that would teach people how to use and create for Wikimedia and then allow them to practice it with the advice of a mentor. I would also assemble a list of fact-checked versions of articles, which would be updated regularly and expanded.

Goals

edit
  1. Establish a group of people to work as mentors.
  2. Build a kit for use in the teaching of these classes.
  3. Begin assembling list of fact-checked articles.
