Region-specific criteria

At this time, we are aiming to enrich our committee’s work with new members who may bring:

• Experience/expertise in the following thematic areas: Wikimedia technical and development work, small nonprofit organizational development, Wikimedia affiliate structures, Wikidata usage, and learning & evaluation methods.
• Language skills: native French, Spanish, or Chinese
• Diversity to our team in terms of age, gender, race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, physical conditions or cultural background. In particular, candidates from
  • African-American communities,
  • Hispanic and Spanish-speaking communities,
  • Indigenous, First Nations, and American Indian communities, and
  • Canadian communities.

Instructions

To apply for the North America Regional Committee, please review the open call and then submit your application by providing a statement below with the following information. Applications are currently open.

• What country are you based in?
• Tell us about yourself and why you want to join a Regional Committee. Please consider responding to some of the questions below, but it is not necessary to respond to all of them in your application. Please keep your statement under 500 words.
  • What is your current participation in the Wikimedia movement or the Free Knowledge Ecosystem?
  • How do you think you could contribute towards the committees’ role and ways of working?
  • How do you think the committee could make decision making more participatory?
  • How do you think the committee could improve grant making so it has a greater impact?
  • What skills, background or experience could you bring to the committee? You might address grant making, knowledge equity, or other relevant areas.

• Q Tell us about yourself and why you want to join a Regional Committee.

• A Given the clear theme of the project report on the Accelerated Planning Campaign Charter, more manpower and technology are needed to collaborate and consult, and to share knowledge and experience in their social backgrounds and areas of expertise.

• Q What is your current participation in the Wikimedia movement or the Free Knowledge Ecosystem?

• A Global Administration Centre focusing on the four priority issues projects adopted by the Board of Trustees in view of the four thematic resolutions for the biennium 2018-2020-2022

• Q How do you think you could contribute towards the committees’ role and ways of working?

• A No one in the world has ever answered such a question without real knowledge of each other.This is a virtual platform, and this question should not arise without any authentication.Because we are completely unfamiliar with each other, the question is which person and which position are being questioned, and this question has violated the code of conduct.

• Q How do you think the committee could make decision-making more participatory?

• A Three elements:"[1.]to discover patterns of thinking."Where is the crux of the problem.how long it's been around, and where it's been.[2.]The concept and responsibility of decision-makers" Only when they become true founders will they understand that running a business requires unknown risk assessment and pressure.[3]Every decision maker who has authority to make a decision should be aware of the fact that he or she has to change his or her mind before making any decision.

•There is no way to solve the problem by avoiding responsibility. In fact, if you can solve the problem with money, it is within the scope of corporate investors' risk assessment.People who admit their mistakes and accept failure deserve the respect of others.

• I'm not the only one who has my own point of view. I saw someone on Twitter at 3 a.m. today who wanted to measure Wikipedia's value with money. The founder replied that knowledge of freedom is a priceless asset.

• A Simplify the framework of applications, take a closer look at the purpose of each application, whether the subject matter and content of the application are plagiarized, and whether the centripetal effort of each member receiving it.

• 1. Whether it's a foundation member or a committee member, or any individual contributor, everyone comes from different cultures, social experiences, and skills. Everyone comes to this platform through a new internship – a period of proficiency.I think it's better for an Asian not familiar with English to start learning a second language at the age of 45, even to use the tools available to communicate with foreigners.

• 2.Is it really acceptable for the rest of us to have a CEO apologize to the little administrator ?
• Harassment in accordance with the code of conduct is itself a violation of the rules, why the person who steps in to solve the problem should apologize to the wrong person!
