Very nice, clean, simple concept. May I suggest double brackets instead of single? In keeping with the double-bracket Wiki concept. I uploaded my revised sample. —Pacific1982 —Preceding undated comment added 19:01, 15 August 2003 (UTC).

Thanks, I thought about it, but I thought it might look too cluttered. I was trying to draw it as quickly as possible while at work, so I didn't try lots of things. Your version looks better... the double brackets look like hair (if you squint hard enough!) --Antiquark — The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.66.20.25 (talk) 20:07, 15 August 2003 (UTC)Reply

One more version with the required text. I used a character set (Greek) that's associated with science and ancient history. --Antiquark —Preceding undated comment added 02:45, 16 August 2003 (UTC).

I like the "b" version; it should still work in a monochrome environment.

I find pseudo-Greek (or pseudo-cyrillic) to be intellectually irritating. The Greek ρ should never be treated as a p. Eclecticology 00:14, 19 Aug 2003 (UTC)

I worried a bit about the pseudogreek, but I was able to rationalize it by thinking of the Greek text as a stylized English font. Anyways, I posted another version: 100% phonetic Greek. You have Alpha, you have Omega, and a bunch of stuff in between. AFAIK, the pronunciation is roughly correct if you follow the classical Greek, not modern, pronunciation. Link: Greek Phonetics. Since the Greek alphabet is universally recognized (by scholarly types, at least) the pure Greek Wikipedia text should be phonetically pronounceable everywhere. --Antiquark —Preceding undated comment added 15:08, 19 August 2003 (UTC).

Infinity? Great! But maybe cut that smiley and the 50s psychedelic colors. --Menchi 09:02, 23 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Is it a smiley face... or is it... A BOWL OF INFINITY??? As for the colours, that conveys the idea that Wikipedia covers the spectrum. --Antiquark — The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.76.161.68 (talk) 01:35, 26 August 2003 (UTC)Reply

Omega to Alpha is very nice... but will there also be the name of the Encyclopedia in the local language (eg English?). I think that's a backdraw: the name is in it, but you can't count on people being able to read it. Renke —Preceding undated comment added 22:32, 27 August 2003 (UTC).Reply
