These images are my attempt at a Wikipedia logo. They're transparent PNGs, so Internet Explorer users will see gray instead of the transparent pixels. The blank image is for Wikipedias to add their own language's version of the name and slogan. --Jordon Kalilich, 2003-07-22

That's weired. I use IE and see background as grey yet see other transparent pngs transparent. I wonder why that is? Anyway al arge number of potential visitors to the wikipedia site use IE so this needs to be fixed. --Theresa

I don't know why that is, but it's probably a silly mistake because I've only dabbled in PNGs before. In any case, I changed the images so that the background is white; most Wikipedias have white backgrounds anyway. Oh, and just for the record, the font I used for the logo was Book Antiqua. --Jordon Kalilich, 2003-07-24

I like this one. Simple and elegant. Books symbolize knowledge, and the Earth image implies that the world's knowledge is contained within. How about attaching a mouse to the book, to indicate that it can be "opened" by clicking? -- Stygian, 2003-08-05
