Under webbinariet berättar Niklas Holmgren från Vattenmyndigheterna och André Costa på Wikimedia Sverige hur Wikipedia och Wikidata kan användas för att sprida information och data. Du får även se och höra om ett projekt kring data om vatten, som nyligen genomförts.
Om du söker på internet hamnar oftast Wikipedia överst i sökträfflistan. Sedan några år finns information om 65 000 svenska sjöar i Wikipedia. Information som är framtagen av vattenmyndigheterna, SMHI och SLU och har publicerats av en volontär på Wikipedia. Niklas och André berättar om hur stora mängder av strukturerad information kan tillgängliggöras via Wikipedia. Genom att lagra informationen i den bakomliggande databasen Wikidata kan man få fördelar som enkel språkstyrning, uppdatering och möjligheter att göra smarta databasfrågor. Ett intressant pilotprojekt har genomförts för att exponera data om vatten som rapporterats in till EU-kommissionen. Det är vattenmyndigheten i Södra Östersjön som har bedrivit projektet i samverkan med Wikimedia Sverige. Arrangör Smartare miljöinformation (regeringsuppdraget Digitalt först).
