Description

Pohled na vsakovací nádrž umělé infiltrace v úpravně vod v Káraném. Tmavá barva na dně nádrže jsou nečistoty. Pod nečistotami se nachází písek. Každý rok dochází k mechanickému odstraňování těchto usazených nečistot.

Umělá infiltrace funguje na principu filtrování vody, z řeky Jizery pískovým podložím na sever od Káraného. Voda je načerpána a dále přefiltrována na pískových rychlofiltrech. Poté je dopravena do vsakovacích nádrží. Zde postupně zasakuje a čistí se. V okolí vsakovacích nádrží se nachází studny umělé infiltrace, ze kterých se přefiltrovaná voda vyčerpává pod tlakem a potrubím dopravuje k dalšímu ošetření chlórem.

Princip umělé infiltrace byl v Káraném zaveden v roce 1968 a jeho kapacita je 700-900 l/s. Zdržení je asi 40 dní. Mocnost zdejších štěrkopísků je 8-12 m. Podobných vsakovacích nádrží se v Káraném nachází 15.
