English: The clock tower in the Old City. Tripoli, Libya.
Ottoman Clock Tower was commissioned by Governor Ali Rida Pasha between 1866 and 1870. Standing 18 meters tall, the tower features a distinctive Ottoman architectural style and is equipped with two clocks on each of its four façades. With a square design, the tower comprises two floors adorned with marble columns crowned with decorative capitals. It overlooks Souq Al-Mushir, the Red Castle (As-saraya Al-hamra Museum), and the headquarters of the Central Bank of Libya. Initially, the tower served as a clock, striking every hour to notify people of the time.
