Title
Military Cross and Service medals of Major Edward Sherlock and Medals of Gerard Sherlock, item 4
Description
English: These items were left to me by my late mother - I have the Military cross , the service medals and the name tag of Major Edward Sherlock, my father who was born in 1886. He served in the Royal Field Artillery and was in charge of supplies. He was 'invalided out' with a heart problem circa 1918. He lived in Tullamore, Co. Offaly until his death in 1953 aged 67. I also have the medals of Captain Gerard Sherlock who was a career soldier killed in action in the German Cameroons in 1915 when he went to the aid of a German soldier.
