Summary
| Description |
English: Many hundreds if not thousands of fruit bats hang from the trees along the Mawella Lagoon and spend the day there. At night they visit fruit plantations. Their diet is strictly vegetarian (unlike the small bats that hunt insects). The flying foxes here have a wingspan of about 150 cm. They come back early in the morning and fight loudly for the best hanging place. |
