English: Cluster of 14 charchala temples, a dochala temple and a dolmancha at Kalitala area of Gonpur village in Birbhum district. The temples were built in mid 18th century by local Chowdhury family. Many of them has foundation stone of which only a few showcase the foundation year. On Eastern side there are 7 temples, on western side there are 4 temples, on northern side there are 3 temples and a dolmancha and the southern side there is a solitary dochala temple. The temples are decorated with motifs made of soft phool pathar which is of ten mistaken as terracotta. |
