Description

Het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken verhuisde zomer 2017 van Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 naar Rijnstraat 8 in Den Haag.

Het gebouw direct naast Station Den Haag Centraal biedt plaats aan meer dan 6000 (grotendeels) rijksambtenaren van Buitenlandse Zaken en van Infrastructuur en Milieu, het Centraal Orgaan opvang asielzoekers (COA), de Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst (IND) en de Dienst Terugkeer en Vertrek (DT&V).

In 1992 werd het gebouw opgeleverd als - toen - innovatief duurzaam gebouw voor het ministerie van VROM. Ook nu staat duurzaamheid weer centraal.

Het gebouw is nu omgevormd tot flexibel en duurzaam verzamelkantoor voor de rijksoverheid. Volgens het motto efficiënt en aantrekkelijk zijn rijkskantoren nu flexibele werkomgevingen waar onafhankelijk van tijd en plaats gewerkt wordt. De vernieuwing van het pand aan de Rijnstraat is het meest recente en meest vergaande voorbeeld van deze ontwikkeling.
