فارسی: کاروانسرای دِیر گچین یکی از بزرگ‌ترین کاروانسراهای ایران است که در مرکز پارک ملی کویر واقع شده‌است. ویژگی‌های منحصربه‌فرد این کاروانسرا باعث شده آن را «مادر کاروانسراهای ایران» بنامند. این کاروانسرا در بخش مرکزی شهرستان قم، ۸۰ کیلومتری شمال شرق شهر قم (کیلومتر ۶۰ بزرگراه گرمسار) و ۳۵ کیلومتری جنوب‌غربی ورامین واقع شده‌است. این اثر در تاریخ ۱ مهر ۱۳۸۲ با شمارهٔ ثبت ۱۰۴۰۸ به عنوان یکی از آثار ملی ایران به ثبت رسیده‌است. این بنا را به این خاطر که دارای گنبدی از جنس گچ بوده‌است، دیر گچین نامیده‌اند اما اکنون چنین گنبدی در بنا وجود ندارد. بنای این کاروانسرا مربوط به دوره ساسانی است و در دوران سلجوقیان، صفویان و قاجاریان مرمت و بازسازی شده‌است. شکل کنونی آن متعلق به دوران صفویه است. این کاروانسرا در راه باستانی ری به اصفهان قرار دارد. این بنا پس از تغییر جاده تهران به قم از این مسیر به مسیر حسن‌آباد در زمان امین‌السلطان، متروکه شد و مورد استفاده افراد محلی برای نگهداری دام قرار داشت. پس از ثبت ملی بنا در ۱۳۸۲، مرمت اضطراری آن آغاز شده و این مرمت تا سال ۱۳۸۵ ادامه داشته‌است.
ساختمان این بنا به صورت چهار ایوانی دوره سلجوقی است و حدود ۱۲۰۰۰ مترمربع وسعت دارد. فضاهای موجود در این کاروانسرا را می‌توان به فضاهای انسانی، دامی و رفاهی تقسیم کرد. این بنا چهار برج گرد در گوشه‌ها و دو برج با قاعده نیم‌بیضی در دو سوی سردر اصلی دارد که در وسط دیوار جنوبی قرار گرفته‌است. همین‌طور دارای ۴۴ اتاق مسکونی یا حجره، ۴ تالار (اصطبل) بزرگ، مسجد، شبستان خصوصی (دستگاه مستقل و بخش اعیانی)، انبار علوفه، آسیاب، حمام و ۶ چشمه توالت است. مصالح به کار رفته در دیر گچین آجر، آهک، خشت و گچ است. مسجد بنا احتمالاً در محل آتشکده‌ای ساسانی ساخته شده‌است و در آن هیچ‌گونه تزییناتی دیده نمی‌شود. در اطراف کاروانسرای دیر گچین تعدادی بنا به صورت مجموعه وجود دارد؛ مانند دو آب‌انبار در پشت ضلع غربی و نزدیک به حمام، یک کوره آجرپزی، یک آب‌بند و قبرستانی در ضلع جنوب غربی که روی قبرهایش را با آجر پوشانده‌اند و به دوران اسلامی تعلق دارد. در ۵۰۰ متری شرق کاروانسرا، بنایی خشتی گلی به شکل یک قلعه وجود دارد که فقط یک دروازه ورودی دارد و بنای آن به دوره قاجار مربوط است.
English: Deir-e Gachin Caravansarai is one of the greatest caravansarais of Iran which is located in the center of Kavir National Park. Its unique qualities is the reason it is called “Mother of Iranian Caravansarais”. It is located in the Central District of Qom County, 80 kilometers north-east of Qom (60 kilometers into Garmsar Freeway) and 35 kilometers south-west of Varamin. This monument was registered in Iran's National Heritage List on September 23, 2003. The structure of this caravanserai belongs to Sasanian era, and restorations took place in Seljuk, Safavid and Qajar eras. Its current form belongs to Safavid era. This caravanserai is situated on the ancient rout from Ray to Isfahan.
The structure of this caravansarai is in Seljuki four-iwan form and is 12000 square meters wide. The interior spaces of the caravansarai include human, livestock, service and convenience, and security spaces. There are four circular towers at the corners and two half-oval towers at both sides of the main gate which is situated in the middle of the southern wall. Also, there are 44 rooms or chambers, 4 big halls (stables), mosque, private shabestan, fodder barn, gristmill, bathroom and toilet. The materials used in Deir-e Gachin are brick, lime, adobe and plaster. The mosque of the caravanserai was probably built in the place of the Sasanian fire temple and there are no decorations in it. There are a number of structures around the caravanserai as a collection including two Ab anbars behind the western side and close to the bathroom, a brick furnace, a dam, and a graveyard in the south-western side in which the graves are covered with bricks and that goes back to the Islamic era. There is a brick-clay-made structure in the form of a fort 500 meters east of the caravanserai which has only one entrance gate and its structure goes back to the Qajar era.
