Fante Wikimedians Community/WLF 2023
Feminism and Folklore" represents an annual international writing competition and photo upload initiative on Wikipedia. This event takes place during February and March, aiming to capture and document various aspects of folk cultures and the role of women in folklore across diverse global regions. It is an integral part of the broader Wiki Loves Folklore (WLF) photography campaign, which is conducted on Wikimedia Commons to comprehensively document folklore traditions worldwide.
The Fante Wikimedians Community has actively engaged in this writing competition from its inception. This year, the user group is organized a workshop and an in-person event in Takoradi ,Ghana

- Yes, we're pleased with the project's outcomes. It effectively raised awareness about folk cultures and women in folklore, drawing global contributions. The initiative significantly contributed to the Wiki Loves Folklore campaign, enriching the documentation of global folklore. Our local event in Takoradi, Ghana, further added a community-driven aspect to the project's success.

- Our original project targets encompassed raising Wikipedia awareness on WLF and educating participants on article creation rules. The workshop effectively achieved these goals, equipping attendees with the knowledge to create articles. Consequently, we are pleased to report the successful creation of over 70 articles on the Fante Wikipedia.
