Return to the Wikimedia Algeria/Activities/Events 2024 Wiki Loves Africa (WLA) is an annual contest that enables all Africans to contribute free media related to their experience to Wikimedia Commons, for use on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia communities (mouvement Wikimedia), and to make these shared media freely accessible to all humanity.
This 2024 edition, marking the 10th anniversary of the contest, is a fitting occasion. This year's 2024 theme is Africa creates and participants are encouraged to provide media (photography, video and audio) related to African creations.
Participation
- This contest is open to all people both experienced and new to the Wikimedia movement, organizers, professional or amateur photographers, volunteers involved in organizing or interested in both, Wikimedia staff members, as well as members of the open knowledge movement who are interested in media, contests and/or Africa. Everyone is invited to participate.
- To take part, please register here, on the dedicated event page. This is a great opportunity for newcomers as well as those already familiar with Wiki Loves Africa to collaborate and enrich their knowledge together. Look forward to a fun and rewarding event!
