In Arhavi, in the Artvin province of Türkiye, Wikipedia student clubs and students from the Turkish and Georgian communities will come together and organize an edit-a-thon about the two countries.

Background

A 2-day Edit-a-thon held at the joint Arhavi WikiCamp 2024 for students, volunteers, and editors organized by Wikimedia UG Türkiye and Wikimedia UG Georgia.

Objectives

  1. Increasing and improving articles about Georgia in Turkish Wikipedia
  2. Increasing and improving articles about Türkiye in Georgian Wikipedia
  3. To ensure that students participate in Wikipedia Student Club activities and motivate them to contribute.
  4. To strengthen the cooperation between the clubs of the two countries.

In the Wikimarathon, in which 66 people participated, a total of 256 articles were created in Turkish and Georgian Wikipedias and 81 images were uploaded.[1]
