Why Should You Participate? edit

Africa, the second-largest continent on Earth, lacks sufficient content in comparison to others. The objective of this campaign is to enhance the representation of Africa on Wikipedia by contributing more content. In 2016, The Guardian reported that only 2.6% of English Wikipedia's content was dedicated to Africa. Since then, initiatives have been launched to improve these statistics and reshape the online narrative. As organizers, we appreciate the ongoing efforts of editors and Wikipedians globally. Africa deserves comprehensive coverage to address the existing content gap on the web. The Africa Wiki Challenge (AWC) invites contributions on Africa from individuals in Africa and the diaspora. Join us, and let your contributions advocate for Africa!
