Enhancing Algerian Articles through Visual and Audio Identity

Project Overview

Maqal Yahki ( In English "An Article Speaks") is a project currently under development that aims to enrich Algerian articles on Wikimedia projects by incorporating high-quality audiovisual materials.

This initiative focuses on promoting the history, culture, and notable figures of Algeria through interviews, video content, and audio recordings. The goal is to create a rich multimedia library that supports both researchers and the general public in accessing diverse forms of information.

Motivation

The idea behind "Maqal Yahki" arose from the need to address the lack of multimedia content—especially audiovisual resources—related to Algerian figures on Wikimedia projects. Due to the high cost and limited availability of such resources, particularly for documentary filmmaking, the project seeks to make these materials more accessible. By providing freely available video interviews and recordings of key Algerian personalities, "Maqal Yahki" will facilitate researchers, filmmakers, and readers in accessing valuable information.
