We talked about EduWiki Outreach Collaborators and how Wikimedia Serbia played a role being a part of it
Wikimedia CEE Online Meeting 2021 took place from 5–7 November 2021 during which Nebojša (WMRS) and Sailesh (WMF) had an opportunity to present a community engagement initiative “EduWiki Outreach Collaborators” (EWOC).
EWOC is a shared learning group that helps the Wikimedia education community in better networking, communications, and capacity building. We highlighted the role Wikimedia Serbia played in being a part of the first cohort of EWOC which can be an example of good practice for other CEE countries. During the presentation, the EWOC mission, vision and goals were discussed, but also how EDU representatives can share their work with the wider movement, get support from fellow community members in their region and identify cross-community collaboration opportunities.
The goal of the presentation was to present the first steps of regional networking, to motivate the participants to be a part of the EWOC in the future, and to support the small communities. The fact that there were a lot of questions from the participants speaks about how important these and similar topics are, which is why we will try to work on the promotion of these contents in the future as well.
