Abstract:
We will explore how Wikidata can be used as a teaching and learning tool in secondary school social studies classrooms. We will discuss how Wikidata can help students develop critical thinking skills, collaboration and engage in research to enhance their understanding of social studies concepts. We will showcase examples of how Wikidata can be integrated into classroom activities, such as research, assignment and visualization exercises.
We will also discuss potential challenges that may arise when integrating Wikidata into the classroom, such as theoretical and technical difficulties and the need for additional resources, and provide solutions for overcoming these challenges. By the end of this talk, attendees will have a clear understanding of the benefits and practical applications of using Wikidata in secondary school classrooms, and will be inspired to incorporate Wikidata into their own teaching and learning activities.
