Knowledge and its sources - reflections on transitions edit

Abstract/description edit

Collaboration between in-country researchers, and researchers from overseas, has a special dynamic in South East Asia - where collaboration can be supported and also hindered, depending on the context. The specific example of a project that was conducted in the 1990s, has a number of issues arising regarding the collaboration process, will be addressed.

The relationship is directly relevant for all countries in ESEAP where researchers are allowed to work in country.

The collaborative nature of research in the past and the current conditions is an ongoing issue for researchers in any ESEAP country.

  • The speaker's experience in the 1990s was unique in that a country, and context specifically were very set in the time. Now in 2024 to do the work of the research has a large array of different conditions. Participants would learn of the importance of context in research, and how it can affect wikipedia content, and accessibility to resources
