ESEAP Conference 2022/Submissions/The Helpdesk at the Content Partnerships Hub
The Helpdesk at the Content Partnerships Hub
editAbstract/description
editOur initial work with the Content Partnerships Hub showed that many Wikimedians request hands-on support for working with content partnerships. For this we are developing the Helpdesk.
Affiliates and volunteers can request support from the Helpdesk, to work with partners to make content available on the Wikimedia platforms. The session outlines the process for the Helpdesk, and presents initial work. Feedback will be gathered from the attendees on the processes developed, and what kind of support that would be useful. We present ways in which Wikimedians can be involved in the work with the Hub. The requests to the Helpdesk will be reviewed and prioritized by an expert committee of Wikimedians. The committee will be presented at the workshop. In the neartime a number of working groups, with experts from across the movement, will be organized to support the work.
Relationship to ESEAP or to the theme
editThe Helpdesk will support and involve volunteers and affiliates from across the globe. It focuses, however, especially on underrepresented and underserved communities, of which the ESEAP regions are home to several. For us, as initiators behind the Hub initiative, this session will be crucial to understand how to support the ESEAP communities in the best way possible, as well as how to involve ESEAP communities in the work proactively. Hopefully, this can result in a Helpdesk that supports a lot of new content from partners in the ESEAP region on the Wikimedia platforms.
