DMCA takedown notices, which are performed by an authorized representative of the Wikimedia Foundation are done at the behest of the Legal Counsel of the Wikimedia Foundation, and must not be reverted by any project editor (this includes individual project functionaries such as Arbitration Committee members or other designated local project authorities).

DMCA counternotices may be filed in accordance with the Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act. Please consult guidelines for the regulations regarding the specific material.
