Cross-wiki integration

As Wikimedia expands and Wikipedia in particular becomes more and more prominent in the public limelight, the topic of cross-wiki integration becomes more and more important. Finding ways to effectively link pages and the reader to the other projects should be a core focus as Wikipedia and its shadow threaten the completely engulf Wikimedia and nullify the usefulness of our other projects. Strategies to do this are outlined below, as are early suggestions for new incentives. Any editor is free to make sensible suggestions, and hopefully this page can be used as a kind of birthing area for new ideas in cross-wiki integration.

Commons

Move it to Commons

This is a project designed to move free images to Commons. Along with placing considerable emphasis on the need for an image repository and Common's role as this repository, the project has hopefully effected an increased traffic flow from Wikipedia to Commons, at least in some part.
