The Weaving Networks of Knowledge in Latin America: Conference on Climate Justice, Indigenous Voices, and Wikimedia Platforms is organized by WikiAcción Perú in collaboration with the GdT Climate Justice and Wikimedia Projects. It will take place from November 8 to 10, 2024, in the city of Huaraz, Peru.
The main objectives of the event are:
- To build a common agenda among Wikimedia actors in Latin America and the Caribbean on climate change, sustainability, epistemic justice and knowledge equity as topics for impact.
- To open a space for dialogue between allies of the movement and organizers and volunteers of the Wikimedia Movement in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Advocate for open, free, and accessible content policies on issues related to the climate crisis and planetary health in Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous languages, among organisations that document and communicate collective, indigenous, and natural rights.
