Restoring previous version in mobile

 N Proposer did not respond

  • Problem: It is currently not possible for restoring back to a previous version in the mobile site version. This is especially hard for mobile editors who wants to revert multiple edits and bring back a stable version of an article for stopping vandalism. The editors have to switch to the desktop version in order for doing that.
  • Who would benefit: Editors who use mobile phones to edit.
  • Proposed solution: Have a restore this version button on top of the version of the article just like the desktop mode.

If I need to use desktop version when I found vandalism, It's useless to mobile user. So, I support this wish. ロックル (talk) 01:33, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, totally support this proposal ;) CrafterNova (talk) 03:45, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: The simple solution can be written by script, something like w:en:User:Sun8908/js/MobileRevert.js. Sun8908 (talk) 20:26, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for this ;) CrafterNova (talk) 06:05, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @A Simple Human, @ロックル, @CrafterNova, have you used the Advanced mobile contributions (AMC)? This may be the solution to your problem. I encourage to try the AMC out and say if you think something still needs to be improved. (Anything other than the awareness of the AMC ^^). AMC is a good choice if the user has the rollback access and want to revert an edit, because AMC has a rollback link, but if the user has no access to the tool, they will still revert it manually, and manual revert on mobile and AMC are the same. Gadgets like Twinkle on mobile devices are very helpful. Ctrlwiki (talk) 05:51, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ctrlwiki: But Twinkle is accessible only through the desktop site. We have to switch to desktop site again and again, which is difficult. Also using RedWarn is better than Twinkle CrafterNova (talk) 05:54, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CrafterNova: That's what I've said, if the Twinkle gadget can be used in mobile devices, it will be very helpful. Bacause, currently, Twinkle and RedWarn cannot be used on mobile devices, even if we switch from mobile to AMC. Ctrlwiki (talk) 06:53, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Ctrlwiki: I need help with enabling Dark Mode CrafterNova (talk) 07:11, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CrafterNova: I have no idea on that, I don't even know what Dark mode is. Ctrlwiki (talk) 07:19, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ctrlwiki: I attached an external link, you can see for yourself CrafterNova (talk) 07:22, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SGrabarczuk (WMF): Thank you, we will definitely try that, but hope that desktop functionalities are added to the mobile site as well. One more thing, I'm having problems in enabling Dark Mode from Extension:DarkMode. How to "place the file(s) in a directory called DarkMode in extensions/ folder and add the following code at the bottom of LocalSettings.php: wfLoadExtension( 'DarkMode' );" CrafterNova (talk) 05:56, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have been using AMC for more than a year, but as far as I'm aware, I don't think AMC currently has a button (by default) to let users restore version, even if the user has rollback right. But I can restore version on Wikidata on mobile web interface, which is a default option even without AMC. Sun8908 (talk) 10:26, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A user with rollback rights can see rollback link if he will using AMC or Desktop view, you can't restore a revision using rollback of course, but you can do a manual revert using either mobile or advanced mobile. Twinkle and RedWarn has buttons that can revert and restore revisions but you can only do that on Desktop view. Ctrlwiki (talk) 10:38, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For TwinkleMobile for rollback on Twinkle (using mobile), check out this user script: w:en:User:P.T.Đ/TwinkleMobile. Thingofme (talk) 04:29, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I already used that before, and I notice that the rollback is not working, the creator later mentions that Twinklemobile has no rollback, see w:User talk:P.T.Đ. Ctrlwiki (talk) 12:08, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
