Change aversion is a handy title under which to collapse any opposition to something you're doing. If there are pitchforks, then it must be that we're making a revolution! (Or maybe we've just interrupted the cultivation and BarnRaising of the innocent villagers?)

As with counter-revolutionary, labeling someone as "change averse" equals saying that someone should be ignored, passed over or destroyed (also known as change management).
