edit@Adélaïde Calais WMFr: Thank you for the links for community consultation. Sorry to turn it on a day late. I did decide on only targetting logged in users: for ~100 images, it sounds a bit too much to target thousands of ip-adresses. Please let me know if and why you would disagree. Because you only suggested the line of text and no image to accompany it, I randomly choose one from the category. I hope that's okay. I think this colourful image might attract more attention then the black and white WMFR logo, but again: let me know if you think differently. Ciell (talk) 21:40, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Ciell I am sorry for making the request only three days before the start of the campaign - the landing page took about a week longer to get ready than I thought it would. Please do not feel the need to apologize as it is my fault. The picture and banner are perfect, thank you. The reason why I was hoping to target IP adresses too is because I only know of about 5 people who have at some point edited wikipedia from French Guyana. Most people who are involved in the French Guyana project page, for example, are not actually based there. This is the starting point of a long campaign to train new wikimedians there, as French speaking wikipedia is particularly poor in contributions from and content about French Guyana. I'm afraid that if only logged-in users from French Guyana are targeted, we might get no more than 2 or 3 participants. Adelaide Calais WMFr (talk) 22:05, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Adélaïde Calais WMFr: Yes, I can imagine that you would like to have people from the country itself involved. I'll turn it on for anons as well. You mention it's the start of a bigger project, could you share a link for information purposes? I know that the Netherlands (WMNL) has a project called "Netherlands and the world" is which they reach out to former Dutch territories, as the Dutch Caribbean, and help people to get started on the projects through universities and libraries. I cannot find any decent reports of this on Meta sadly, even not on their visit to the Caribbean last year, but I'm sure I you would like to exchange ideas Denise from the Dutch chapter would not mind answering questions about their approach in this.
