Aim of higher education is to create knowledge workers by developing in them higher order thinking skills because thinkers are knowledge creators. In the recent past higher education has begun to explore the importance of wiki as a means to promote higher order thinking skills. Different teaching learning techniques can contribute to the development of different levels of learning. In this context wiki can be used as an important teaching learning tool for higher education. Wiki can facilitate computer supported collaborative learning. Constructivist theory talks about cognitive growth and learning. Constructivism transforms the students from a passive recipient of information to an active participant in the learning process. In this context wiki can be used not only as a source of information but at the same time it can be used as an instrument for adding or sharing new ideas and information. It could develop computer literacy, digital skills, research skills and perhaps one of the most important skill i.e. critical thinking within the learning community. The focus of the paper is on how to make all the educators as well as the learners aware to use wiki in developing these skills so that we can look forward for creating a knowledge based society in the truest sense of the term.
