This request for micro-funding to Africa Environment has just been submitted by [[User:Rafkoya|Rafkoya]] on 15-02-2023 and is awaiting support.

Description edit

Please add description of the request, with all the necessary details.

Burning of natural gas such as Coal, oil and gas, are by far the largest contributor to climate change, amounting to about 75 percent of global green house emissions and about 90percent of carbon dioxide emissions. The world is now warming faster than ever and therefore disrupting usual balance of nature. Furthermore, pulling down of forest for any reason also causes emission since trees also release stored carbon. the United Nation established that, approximately 12 million hectares of forest are destroyed yearly. Since forests absorb carbon dioxide, destroying them also limits nature’s ability to keep emissions out of the atmosphere.

HOWEVER, This project will focus more on engaging students on creating items and translating articles about climate and environmental change on Wikipedia, Wikidata and simple English Wikipedia.
