Affiliations Committee/Resolutions/Wikimedia Community User Group Nigeria - Liaison approval, September 2015

Whereas:

1. Recognizing Wikimedia User Groups is the responsibility of the Affiliations Committee;
2. Two members of the Affiliations Committee assigned as liaisons to a Wikimedia User Group application may initially approve the application for up to one year;
3. The application of Wikimedia Community User Group Nigeria has been reviewed by the Affiliations Committee;
4. The scope of the group, which can be found on their meta page, is "To promote the use of Wikimedia projects by people in Nigeria; to help people in Nigeria learn how to edit Wikimedia projects; and, to organize in-person gatherings of Wikimedians in Nigeria."; and
5. It is the opinion of the Affiliations Committee liaisons assigned to this application that the group meets the requirements for Wikimedia User Group status.

Therefore be it

• resolved that Wikimedia Community User Group Nigeria is recognized as a Wikimedia User Group for a one-year, renewable, period that becomes effective when the Wikimedia User Group agreement is signed.
