  • What skills, experience, or perspective would you bring or contribute to the committee, if appointed?

I am well versed in both Regional and Thematic disciplines, including legislative and cultural.
  • Which sub-committee are you interested in working with (Conflict Intervention, Recognitions)?:
    Recognitions sub-committee
  • What do you think are the benefits and responsibilities of functioning as formal affiliates, and when is a group of Wikimedians ready to form an affiliate?
Being the founder and current Head of a thematic community, Pilipinas Panorama, based in our nation's capital (Manila) I am aware of the challenges experienced by unrecognized communities — subsisting on limited donations and personal funding. As a Wikimedian volunteer having been engaged with affiliates (Wikimedia Philippines and PhilWiki UG) and our regional hub (ESEAP) I managed to observe the dynamics of peripheral groups which I hope to integrate. I believe that focus, Mission/Vision, outreach and ability to consolidate are important keys.
  • Please describe your experience working with conflict resolution, and how you have helped build consensus and support diversity.
In two cases, I have reached out between schismatic communities.
In case #1, especially, I was accorded honorary membership by the splinter organization 15 hours away from my city, thus creating channels of communication. To this day, these channels exist.
In case #2, I was to witness a fragmentation, resulting in two affiliates that exist today in one provincial district. The conflict resolution I needed was a proper venue for a personal outreach — to foster tolerance between them as such.
