About Celebration

Wikimedia Nepal, Rajbiraj Community Rajbiraj celebrated the 1st Anniversary of Maithili Wikipedia (https://mai.wikipedia.org/) as a national event. Maithili Wikipedia Anniversary Celebration is goes outdoor, the event was held at Neta Chowk, Rajbiraj. A mass of Maithili people and community celebrated the anniversary of Maithili Wikipedia. A whole day program was organized in Rajbiraj to mark the special day.

Maithili Language Wikipedia was begun in Nepal in 6th November, 2014. This is 1st such wide event which was held in Rajbiraj for Maithili Wikipedia.

A great moment of excitement among the participants was the fact that the Maithili Wikipedia has now surpassed 1,500 articles during the last 1 year and is gearing up for a 5,000 articles in the near future.
