Wikimedia chapters/Reports/Wikimedia Sverige/200811

This November was a great month in Sweden. We arranged our first Wikipedia Academy which was a great success. Frank Schulenberg made a video that is found here: http://blip.tv/file/1471566

Unfortunately it is in Swedish as are the page on our wiki. However the pictures on Commons speak for themselves.

Later this month the Swedish library association arranged a day about Wikipedia where, amongst others, two of our board members, Lennart Guldbrandsson and Einar Spetz both held talks.

Lennart's book "Så fungerar Wikipedia" (How Wikipedia works) was picked up by a publisher from have being a print-on-demand book. The first edition sold out in two weeks. Interestingly, one principal on a secondary high school bought one book for each person on the staff (45 copies).

Last weekend the board and a few other of our high-active members had a strategy planning day where we started of by evaluating our first year as a chapter. This was one of our few physical board meetings, the ordinary ones are being held on Skype, and it is really great meeting in person. After the meeting we had an ordinary wiki meetup. One observation we have made this autumn is that the number of meetups has increased significantly, a fact that we are very happy with.
