Types edit

Co-operative edit

Prohibitively expensive to run Australia wide. Must register as a "foreign co-op" in every state.

Incorporated Association edit

An incorporated association is a means by which a small organisation (similar to a club) can form a legal entity separate from its members. The organisation can sue, be sued, enter into contracts in its own name and is formally recognised. These organisations typically have relatively low overheads and modest reporting requirements.

For Australia wide recognition must apply to be an Australian body

Victoria edit

NSW edit

Company edit

Suitable for larger organisations and is the most flexible. Also the most expensive to run and must be audited unless an exemption is granted by ASIC. Automatically recognised Australia wide.
