Scanning work [TEMPORARY HEADING]

edit

When Punjabi Wikisource became live Wikimedia project there was a little number of books available on the web. CIS-A2K conduct content enrichment program coordinated with Punjabi Wikimedians through scanning the rare books from different libraries and different organizations. There is the list of the 25 books which are uploaded on Wikimedia Commons and these books are used by Punjabi Wikimedians on Punjabi Wikisource.

Learning

edit
  • CIS-A2K use Scansnap SV600 scanner for scanning. During the process, CIS-A2K found that the scanner we currently have is not supportable when we scan big books or dictionaries. It can damage rare books; For example, opening a book 180 degrees can be damaging to its spine.

Follow-up

edit
  • By this program we will upload 30 books on Wikimedia Commons till the month of June 2019.
