A list of World Heritage sites on Wikidata can be found here

Adding data
Please add useful data to the Wikidata items for the World Heritage sites, which can include:

  • One of the most common missing pieces of information for build World Heritage sites is the date of construction (note: this is different to date of inception). This information can be found within the official descriptions on the World Heritage website.
  • An image
  • A Wikimedia Commons category
  • Add other Wikidata items are part of a World Heritage site e.g the Eiffel Tower is part of the Paris, rives de la Seine World Heritage site. This can be done by using the has part property on the World Heritage site item and the part of property on the items that are included in the World Heritage site.

Fixing errors
A common error made on Wikidata is to give part of a World Heritage site the property heritage status: World Heritage site, which is incorrect. Correctly labeled sites will include the property World Heritage criteria (2005). These incorrectly labeled sites can be corrected by removing the property heritage status and adding the property part of and the World Heritage site which it is a part of.

These incorrectly labelled sites can most easily be found by looking at the list above and finding any sites with a small number of articles across different languages.

  2. Tentative sites are not included, but only current World Heritage Sites.
