I checked mobile.wikipedia.org and found that the part of an article shown on a single page constitutes about 200 words or around 1200 characters. The site runs fine on my phone. Therefore, I suppose, articles could be around 1200 characters. 200 characters is a little too less. A 200 character version could be useful if you intend to set up an SMS query service. Since, internet enabled phones are a little rare in the developing world, an SMS service could be relatively more helpful.--Nilotpal42 07:59, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
