Wikimedia California? edit

Just out of curiosity, why not California Wikimedians? --Another Believer (talk) 19:16, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

That page looks dead, and it appears there is an active Northern California group at Wiki BUG. I figured that Southern California is what was left? I'm not opposed to a general California group, though I'm not sure how much sense it would make to do a joint group given that Northern California and Southern California are pretty separate geographically and culturally... Might be worth discussing at the upcoming LA Wiknic. Calliopejen1 (talk) 04:54, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Late October meetup edit

Who is interested in attending a meetup in late October, hosted by Dr. Mel, in Mission Valley, with the goal of starting a usergroup and getting edit-a-thons started back up again. Here is a w:meetup.com posting for the event here.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 19:00, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Official status edit

What is the status of our approval? Has it been made official, or is this still just an idea?
I was thinking that once we become official, we can work with local groups to organize edit-a-thons and educating the public on how they can assist in improving existing, or creating new, articles.--RightCowLeftCoast (talk) 02:16, 1 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
