Grants talk:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Rapid Fund/Wiki Loves Africa 2024 Campaign in Northeast Nigeria. (ID: 22391719)

I do not recognize the group name (the landscape is really becoming hard to follow in Nigeria...) but I recognize some names listed in the proposition, including one person who was the lead for the Fulfude group last year (group that did a good job). So I guess I support :) I will note I have not seen the detailed budget.
Why don’t you join Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Rapid Fund/Wiki Loves Africa 2024:Africa Create in North Eastern Nigeria (ID: 22391585) though ?

I was answered on telegram of the practicalities (or lack there of) joining with the other group. Thanks for the clarifications. Anthere (talk) 23:31, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

This comprehensive Wikimedia engagement plan covers a journey from pre-event engagement to sustained post-event support, embracing diverse stakeholders through social media, workshops, and collaborations. It focuses on facilitating active participation during activities with online tools and resources while ensuring post-event recognition, feedback, and exhibitions. By utilizing tracking tools, it aims for continuous improvement and alignment with the Wikimedia Movement's goal of fostering an inclusive, vibrant community committed to enriching content for the long term.

Not Funded edit

Hello @Meritkosy thank you for submitting your application for the rapid fund grant. After careful review, we have decided not to fund your application at this time and we have the following recommendations

  • Consider aligning this work on the Wiki Loves Africa 2023, with the broader strategy implemented by Wikimedia UG Nigeria (please see here). The success of Wiki Loves Monuments 2023, was a good demonstration of the power and effectiveness of collaboration amongst groups within Nigeria. It would potentially be more impactful if the Wiki Loves Africa 2024 is implemented as a coordinated national contest. As such we recommend that the team reaches out to the Wikimedia User Group of Nigeria - which is already planning a national campaign - for the support that you may need to ensure the impact of your project.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 17:54, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
