About edit

This project is aimed at increasing user experience from administrators to other experienced editors making contribution to growth of Wikipedia. This project is not aimed at training patrollers, but to expose users to the major policies and guidelines for editing Wikimedia projects. I happen to engage in the New Page Patrol School and for the first time I came across theses policies which I think every Wikimedian needs to be wary of. They are the driving force that makes Wikipedia articles reliable and verifiable. I even thought of introducing these policies to academic lecturers so they will be satisfied with Wikipedia by knowing clearly these policies that guide editors in making reliable and verifiable contributions. Below are link to the summarized guidelines we will use in the course of the event. Administrators from either Wikis should endorse and engage in the event in time. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1hrjstKCfZ41qZMpVTxPnJwM_6Nq0TTpD

  • New pages copyright violations will be tested using the Earwig's Copyvio Detector tool
  • New pages on Hausa Wikipedia will be assessed through the RTRC [1]

& NewPagesFeed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:NewPagesFeed (if applicable).

  • Good article nomination [2]

Endorsement edit

I support this project because it will help administrators and senior editors to learn how to filter articles and unwanted content in creating new articles, and it will bring many changes to Hausa Wikipedia.

Endorsment from BnHamid (talk) edit

I support this. Creating good articles, improving or updating the existing are among the importance of this proposal. New editors who will received this upcoming awareness may try to avoid their primary mistakes they had made, before creating another New Page, as well as guides them to know more about rules and policies. This will render the patrollers reading new pages very fast so that they will move to the next articles, after marking it as Patrolled, since the articles has less mistakes/error. Indeed this will bring development beyond we expected, towards Wikimedia community development.

Endorsment from —Gwanki✉️ edit

I have endorsed this proposal as I strongly believe it will significantly enhance article quality and uphold credibility. It will provide guidance to administrators for better patrolling of new Hausa Wikipedia articles. The budget is well-planned and aligned with the project's impact.

Endorsement edit

This is a great idea, grounding prospective patrollers, administrators on the nitty gritty of Wikipedia guidelines and policy to ensure quality content creation and moderation of existing ones.

The beauty of this proposal is the idea of exposing academics to Wikipedia guiding principles to disperse any misinformation they have about Wikipedia in the academic world. Atibrarian (talk) 04:01, 3 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not Funded edit

Hello Uncle Bash007, thank you for applying for the Rapid Fund grant. We have reviewed your application and have made the decision to not fund this project at this time, for the following reason; For a project of this nature to gain the desired outcomes, it is important first to have guidelines developed by the community, and iterations based on practical learnings and processes. We suggest that you engage with the Hausa Wikimedians UserGroup regarding this.

Best regards, (On behalf of the Middle East and Africa regional funds team) ~~~~ YPam (WMF) (talk) 21:05, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
